Would You Like To learn Scottish Gaelic?

Classes in Scottish Gaelic For Beginners
offered in the San Francisco Bay Area
in Walnut Creek and San Jose

Does one of these sound like you?

  • You're feeling the call of your Scottish roots, and you're interested in learning to speak some Scottish Gaelic, but you're not sure where to begin?

  • You've been studying with a Scottish Gaelic book or tape-and-book course on your own, and it's not making much sense to you?

  • You plan to travel one day to Scotland or Nova Scotia, and you'd like to be able to speak a few words in Gaelic to the native Gaelic speakers there?

  • You enjoy participating in Scottish cultural activities, such as singing, dancing, musicmaking, or reenactment -- and you wonder what it would be like to speak the actual language that was spoken (and is still spoken today) in Scotland for hundreds and hundreds of years?

  • You're intrigued by this vibrant and rich language -- but you have absolutely no idea of how to pronounce it??

Come join our classes for beginners to Scottish Gaelic, offered by the Scottish Gaelic Learners Association of the Bay Area! Have fun and learn this fascinating Celtic language that is spoken by hundreds of thousands of people today in Scotland and other parts of the world.

In class you'll speak dialogues, view videos, read and converse in Scottish Gaelic, all in a spirited and playful learning environment that helps you learn the specifics of Scottish Gaelic pronunciation and conversation.

The class text is the Scottish Gaelic-English/English-Scottish Gaelic Dictionary by Renton and MacDonald, published by Hippocrene Books, $8.95. The text can be found at most major bookstores.
