Scottish Gaelic Class for Beginners
held in Santa Rosa, California



Santa Rosa Junior College is offering a class in Scottish Gaelic for Beginners, starting September 23, 1998.

The class will meet once per week for six weeks, through November 4, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.

Each class will explore Scottish Gaelic conversation, pronunciation, and various aspects of Gaelic culture, including music, history, folklore, and dance. The material will be geared to the new learner, or to those in need of a refresher course.

Class activities will include Scottish Gaelic conversation, dialogues, readings, songs, videos and music. The instructor is Deborah White, an award-winning Celtic musician with Distant Oaks , a Celtic traditional music band, who has been teaching Gaelic classes and workshops for two years and is a regular contributor to "The Reed and Chanter" and "Dalriada" magazines. She also runs a successful Scottish Gaelic mailing list and companion web site on the Internet, Gaidhlig 4 U.

The fee for the class is $65.00. The class will be held at:

605 Analy Temporaries, Bldg. A, on the Santa Rosa Junior College Campus

There will be no class held on October 14th.
